treating illness and improving overall health. In essence, naturopathic
doctors support and stimulate the body's ability to heal itself through
the use of natural treatments and remedies.
Naturopathic care embraces the following principles and uses science-based
research to provide individualized treatment plans to promote healing.
Naturopathic medicine blends centuries-old natural, non-toxic therapies
with current advances in the study of health and medicine, covering all
aspects of family health from prenatal to geriatric care. Naturopathic
physicians cooperate with other medical practitioners referring patients
to other practitioners for diagnosis or treatment when appropriate. Naturopathic
Doctors study seven treatment modalities: botanical medicine, clinical
nutrition, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy,
physical medicine and lifestyle counselling. I personally emphasize nutrition,
homeopathic remedies, acupuncture, and herbal medicines in my practice.
